UNITED FIRE BRIGADES ASSOCIATION OF N Z/CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL, Long Service Medal for five years service, struck in silver (38mm), no maker (Henry Griffith (Birmingham), obverse design as per later Teutenberg issues), missing suspender and ribbon, reverse inscribed 'Engineer W.Johnston/June 1870'(cfD&C.L3 refer plate XIV). Toned, extremely fine and extremely rare, possibly the earliest known example of this type.
