NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE MASONIC ASSOCN., jewel in gilt and enamel (37x46mm), no maker, suspension and pin-back bar marked 'Founded In/France 1917', gilt crossed sword and rifle affixed to ribbon, stick-pin, reverse inscribed 'E.B.Tustin/10424'. In Masonic jewel case by J.Williams & Co Ltd, Wanganui, some spotting on enamel otherwise extremely fine.

14024 2nd Lieutenant Ernest Belton Tustin, 5th Reinforcements, 3rd Battalion, G Company, NZRB, embarked from New Zealand 26 June 1916. Wounded in action with gun shot to the wrist, hand and foot 13 September 1918. Appointed Captain 17 September 1918. Discharged 21 July 1919 and placed into Reserve of Officers. WWII E.B.Tustin, a 50 year old solicitor was attested at Wanganui on 4 April 1941 as a private in 1 Wellington West Coast Regiment. Then as a Captain (Temp), appointed 1 June 1941, he resigned his commission on appointment to a commission in the Royal N.Z. Air Force on 10 June 1942. Ernest Belton Tustin died at Wanganui, on 20 June 1944.
