N.I.B.B.A. (North Island Brass Band Association), New Plymouth, 1908, handcrafted in silver with gold centre (26x31mm), no maker, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'G.Trombone/2nd./H.G.Hill/Auckland/1st Battalion ('Batta' of Battalion nearly invisible). Nearly very fine.
Corporal H.G.Hill was honorary secretary, treasurer and bass trombonist of the First Auckland Battalion Band. In May 1908 he moved to Wellington where he was going to join the Wellington Garrison Band as bass trombonist. In a letter to Mr Hill, his Worship the Mayor of Auckland expressed regret and the sense of the loss sustained by the community as a result of his departure.
