ASC (ASHBURTON COUNTY SCHOOLS) ATHLETIC MEETING, 1903, prize medal, struck in silver (24mm), no maker, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'A.Corbitt/1st/1/ 2 Mile Walk/3rd 220 Yds.Sc'. Small edge nick on obverse, some sweating on reverse, otherwise fine.

This medal was awarded for events staged at the annual gathering of the Ashburton County Combined Schools Athletic Association held in the Ashburton Domain in December 1903. In newspaper reports of the results, A.Corbitt's name is recorded as A.Corbett. Representing the Borough School he won the Half Mile Walk for boys over 13, starting from scratch, and finished third in the 220 Yards Scratch race for boys 15 and over.
