FIELDING D.H.S. (District High School), fob medal, hand engraved in gold (9ct, 3.72g, 24mm), no maker, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'C.W.Baker', reverse inscribed 'Fielding D.H.S./Stds V & VI./1st Prize Essay/1917'. Very fine.

Annual prizes for the Fielding District High School were presented at the school in front of a large audience of parents on 20 December 1917. For an essay on the landing at Gallipoli prizes were given by the Patriotic Society. For his essay in Standard 5 and 6 a gold medal was awarded to C.W.Baker.
