GREY C(YCLING) CLUB, handcrafted in silver with gold plating on shield (30x32mm), hallmarked for Birmingham 1899 by W.J.D (William James Dingley, Birmingham), ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'Grey C Club/E.Spiers/1st/Mile/Amateur Cycle/9-11-01', reverse inscribed 'Presented/By/Harley & Co/Greymouth'. The text well worn on reverse and gold plating faded on obverse, otherwise nearly fine and scarce.

Harley & Co (H.C.Harley & Co) were auctioneers and in 1902 they also operated a cycle manufacturing and repair business at Greymouth.
