O.B.A (Otago Boxing Association), fob medal, hand engraved in gold (9ct, 5.44g, 27x28mm), maker illegible, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'JLMcA', reverse inscribed 'O.B.A/J.McAllan/Featherweight/20-8-17'. Very fine.

This was the second tournament of the season staged by the Otago Boxing Association which according to reports was the only boxing body that had endeavoured to keep the fight game alive during the war. In the final of the featherweight contest the fight was pretty even with J.McAllan (8st12lbs) narrowly beating H.McQuarrie (9st4lbs).
