SAAC (SEATOUN AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB), fob medal, hand engraved in voided silver and gold (26x35mm), hallmarked for Birmingham 1911 by maker HB&S (Herbert Bushell & Son Ltd, Birmingham), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed '1 Mile/Won By/F.Alexander'. Dark toned, otherwise fine.

The annual sports gathering of the Seatoun Amateur Athletic Club was held on 22 January 1914 at Seatoun Park. The one mile handicap race resulted in a good finish between the first three place-getters. All other starters dropped out at various stages. Hudson starting from scratch overhauled the field and looked to be an easy winner but in the last lap Alexander, starting from 110 yards, made a brilliant sprint home and just beat him by about a yard. Third place-getter, Binnie, was a similar distance behind. As well as being a keen competitor, Mr F.Alexander was also honorary secretary of the Seatoun Amateur Athletic Club.
