SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 226, Rome Mint, (2.66 g), obv. laureate bust to right, draped and cuirassed, around IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. ANNO N A AVG, Annona standing to left holding corn ears and anchor, at her feet a modius, (S.7859, RIC 188, RSC 29). Brilliant, nearly uncirculated and rare in this condition.
