GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), AE sestertius, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 242-4 (18.48 g), obv. laureate draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. around SECVRITAS AVG, SC in exergue, Securitas seated left, holding a sceptre and propping head on left hand, (S.8739, RIC 312, C.333). Lightly toned, good very fine, scarce in this condition.

The Brian Bolton example in similar condition in our Sale 132 (lot 4156) realised $400 hammer.
