QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899, (type 2 reverse with very faint ghost date), - four clasps - Cape Colony, Transvaal, Wittebergen, South Africa 1901. Tpr. G. A. Gross Brabants Horse. Impressed. A few very small scratches, otherwise toned very fine.

Also entitled to King's South Africa Medal with clasp South Africa 1901.^Ex Sid Thurgar Collection.^George Augustus Gross, Department Manager and Salesman, born 1879 at Newcastle NSW; Enl.19Jun1900 at Queenstown, South Africa in A Sqn 1st Brabants Horse; served in ops against the Boers near Reitzburg and on the Basuto Border to Bethlehem and across the Vaal Aug1900 and to South West Cape Colony; Disch.09Feb1901 at Cape Town; Died 1946. ^With copy of Medal Rolls and other research by Mostly Unsung.
