HMAS TINGIRA PRIZE FOBS, includes gold fob (9ct; 3.41g; 30x30mm), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed, 'H.M.A.S.Tingira/Wrestling/Bantam Weight/A.J.Cumberland/Winner 2.12.19.'; voided silver fob with gold centrepiece (tot wt 7.21g; 28x31mm), the centrepiece inscribed, 'ATC', ring top suspension, hallmarked for Birmingham 1919 by maker 'HB&S' (Herbert Bushell & Son Ltd), reverse inscribed, 'H.M.A.S. Tingira./Wrestling Championship/Middle Wt/Runner up/A.T. (sic should be J) Cumberland./20.9.20'. Very fine. (2)

Arthur Joseph Cumberland, born 09Apr1905 at Scone, NSW; Enl.07Oct1919 in RAN at Sydney (O.N.11704); to training ship HMAS Tingira as Boy II; to Boy I 16Jul1920; commissioned into RAN 09Apr1923; various postings including spells at RAN College to attain the rank of Sig PO; Disch.08Apr1930 as Not Approved to Re-Enlist (depression years' cut-backs).
