DSO GROUP OF FIVE: Distinguished Service Order (GVR); 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19 with MID; Territorial Decoration (GVR). First medal unnamed as issued, Major C. Fowler. R.F.A. on second medal, Major C Fowler on third and fourth medals, the last medal unnamed. The named medals impressed. Display court mounted, very fine.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 70 (lot 3749), 9-11/7/2002.^DSO: LG 1/1/1918.^MID: LG 1/1/1916.^In the 1930s Major Cecil Fowler DSO became Captain of the Mersea Island Golf Club at Essex. The course had been taken over by the Army in WWI and then again in WWII. The course finally was sold for non-golfing use in 1950.^With a research.
