CANADA, Queen Victoria, Treaty Three, 1873, proof silver medal (76mm) by J.S & A.B Wyon (Jamieson 38). FDC and very rare.

Ex John J. Ford, Jr, Collection part XVIII, 22 May 2007 (lot 19) previously from Michael Kolman 24.12.1955 and earlier J.D Ferguson.

The Northwest Angle Treaty was imposed 3 October 1873 on Ojibway First Peoples to obtain 55,000 square miles from Lake Superior to Hudson's Bay close to the US border. The medal was struck 1875 or later and was distributed after the fact.
