NATAL, George V, Native Chief's Mpefu's Medal, 1911, in silver (68mm; 67.30g), three part planchet, silver centre 39mm die stamped, outer ring engraved "Native Chief Mpefu, from General Lord Methuen G.C.B/3rd July 1911", makers name Forsyth & Co, Sterling Silver impressed at base on reverse, and enclosed by a bronze silverplate outer band with a loop. Extremely fine and unique as a Chief's Medal granted by its Royal Governor rather than the King.
