PORT PHILLIP, Kangaroo Office, one ounce in gold, 1853 (32.23g), milled edge, upset 180? or coin axis struck from copy dies made for David Gee, c1966. Some jeweller's rouge still adhering otherwise good extremely fine.

Found by the vendor in a twenty coin roll of Saudi Arabia Aramco Oil Company, four sovereign pieces purchased from Geoffrey Young of Harrogate, Yorkshire in 1969/70 when the vendor was a third year medical student in Edinburgh. The vendor is the same person who formed the important Sheffield Collection of British hammered gold coins in our sale 43 (November 1993).
