IONIA, Chios, (mid 5th century B.C.), silver didrachm, (7.858 grams), obv. Sphinx seated to left, amphora before, rev. quadripartite incuse square of rough form, (S.4593, BMC 2-4, SNG Cop.1541). Very dark tone, very fine and rare.
