CARIA, Maussollus Satrap, (375-353 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.064 grams), obv. laureate head of Apollo three-quarter face to right, rev. Zeus Labraundos standing to right holding labrys (double ax) over shoulder and long sceptre, to right **MAUSSWLLO*, (S.4954, BMC 1-2, SNG Cop. 590, cf.SNG Von Aulock 2359 var.). Light surface oxidation on the reverse and below head on the obverse, large flan, otherwise nearly extremely fine, scarce.
