METAPONTUM, silver nomos (c300-340 BC) (7.76 g), Head of Demeter right, hair bound with fillet and wearing earring, rev. Ear of barley with leaf (cf. S.404, SNG ANS 367). Steely grey tone on fields, slight wear on high points, good very fine and extremely rare.
