ISLANDS OFF IONIA, Chios, Pseudo-autonomous issue, 1st century AD, AE Assarion (3.65 g), obv. Sphinx seated left, right forepaw raised, grape cluster left, N in exergue, rev. Chian amphora, ACCA PHON (cf.S.4613, SNG Cop.-, BM -, SNG von Aulock -). Good very fine with black patina and some earthen highlights, extremely rare.

Ex CNG eSale, Auction 252 (lot 262) March 23, 2011 (realised $300). Usually with stars on reverse.
