SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus I (281-261 B.C.), in the name of Seleucus I Nikator, (312-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.96 g), Susa Mint first workshop, struck c.300-281 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated left, holding eagle and sceptre, in left field monogram, monogram under throne, to right **SELEUKOU*, below in exergue **BASILE[WS]*, line border, (cf.S.6829. SC 399.7, ESM 351, Houghton CSE 1039 [same obverse die], HGC 9, 125). Toned, good very fine, very rare.
