KINGS OF MERCIA, Coenwulf, (796-821 AD), silver penny (1.15g), group II, middle coinage, moneyer Werheard, Canterbury mint, obv. bust right, +COENVVULF REX around, rev. cross and wedge, +VERHEARD MONETA. Fragmentary, mostly glued together, one loose section, almost a full coin, very fine and very scarce.
