EDWARD THE CONFESSOR, (1042-1066 AD), silver penny, trefoil-quadrilateral type, moneyer Leofwine, Sandwich mint, obv. +EDPER D REX, diademed bust left, holding sceptre, rev. +LIOFPINE ON SA short cross voided, quatrefoil and pellets in angles (S.1174; N.817). Severe flan cracks at 10 and 12 o'clock, crinkled, nearly very fine and a rare mint.
