GROUP OF THREE: British South Africa Company's Medal 1890-97, (Rhodesia 1896 reverse); Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, (type 3 reverse), - five clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902; British War Medal 1914-18. Troopr. T.P.Mulvihill M.R.F. on first medal, 2340 Tpr: T.P.Mulverhill. N.S. Wales I.B. on second medal, and 4327 Sgt. T.P.Mulvihill. 2-Bn. A.I.F. on third medal. First medal engraved, other medals impressed, with mis-spelling of surname on second medal. All medals with poor ribbons, the first medal with contact marks and edge nicks, otherwise good fine, other medals with hairlines and last two clasps on second medal not joined to other clasps, otherwise toned very fine.
Together with a miniature British War Medal 1914-18 with damaged ribbon. ^Ex L.Nugent 1/1/1974.^Thomas Patrick Mulvihill, born in Carlow, Ireland in 1877, served in Matabeleland Relief Force in Matabele Rebellion; Boer War: Enl.in 3NSW Mounted Rifles as a fitter with next-of-kin in Bathurst, NSW; Emb.05Apr1901 and drafts for NSWMR formed into 3 NSWIB; RTA 02Jun1902; WWI: Enl.31Aug1915 in Newcastle, NSW in 13 Rfts for 2Bn at age 38 being an iron worker's labourer; Emb.20Dec1915; trf to 54Bn in Egypt 14Feb1916; to L/Cpl 01Mar1916; to France 19Jun1916; to A/Cpl 02Aug1916; to Sgt 01Sep1916; hospitalized 28Nov1916 with curvature of spine; trf to 2nd Anzac Salvage Coy 02Jun1917; trf to 4 Div HQ 31Jul1917; RTA 11Jan1918; Disch.16Apr1918 Medically Unfit; Died 15May1941 and commemorated at Bathurst War Memorial. Entitled to Victory Medal 1914-19.^With research and copy of WWI Service File.
