PETERSHAM SOLDIERS' MEMORIAL HALL PRESENTATION KEY, in gold (9ct; 13.40g; 22x54mm), by W.Kerr, features a gold key with the front engraved with Municipality of Petersham Incorporated 1871, and on the reverse is inscribed, "Presented to Mrs. R.Gendle./on the/Official Opening/Petersham Soldiers'/Memorial Hall,/Feby. 1925.", pin-back with safety chain, with unofficial box. Extremely fine.

Mrs R.Gendle was the wife of Richard Gendle who for many years was an alderman of the Petersham Council and was mayor in 1918 and 1919. He also took a keen interest in the Returned Soldiers' League and opened the Petersham Soldiers' Memorial Hall.
