DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), gold aureus, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 95, (7.56 g), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, around DOMITIANVS AVGVSTVS, rev. around GERMANICVS COS XVII, Minerva standing to right on vessel with owl at feet, in fighting pose holding javelin and shield, (cf.S.2700, RIC 775, C.168). A few surface scratches, otherwise very fine / good very fine and scarce.
