ANASTASIUS I, (491-518 AD), gold solidus (4.42g), Constantinople Mint, issued 507-18, obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust, facing three-quarters to right, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with spearing horseman, ANASTASIVS P P AVG around, rev. Victory standing left, holding staff, star in left field, CONOB in exergue (S.5; DOC I 7e). Graffito in left field on obverse, scuff on bust and on Victory, nearly extremely fine with mint bloom.
