THRACE, Abdera, (c.395-360 B.C.), silver tetrobol, (15.5mm, 2.77 g, 8h), Protes, magistrate, obv. Griffin springing left, rev. laureate head of Apollo left, **PR-W-TH-S* around, all in linear square within incuse square, (S.-, May, Abdera, Period VI 327 (A237/P278), HGC 3, 1217, SNG Copenhagen 314 (same dies), Jameson 1043 [same dies]). Lightly toned, very fine and scarce.
