THRACE, Messembria, (150-25 BC), in the name and type of Alexander III, silver tetradrachm (16.42g), magistrate **DAMEAS*, obv, head of young Herakles right wearing lion skin headdress, rev. Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle in right hand, sceptre in left, Corinthian helmet in left field, **DA* below, **DRO* below throne (cf S.6713; Karayotov 214-220 [pl. XXXII 501-19). Very fine and rare.
