THRACE, Kings of, Lysimachos, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.91 g), uncertain mint in Asia Minor (maybe Kyzikos), of fine style from c.283/282 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, within dotted border, rev. Athena Nikephoros enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear behind, resting arm on shield, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **LUSIMAXOU*, AP monogram in left field, P reversed, **PL* monogram in exergue, (cf.S.6814, cf.Thompson 256, M.436 (Ephesos), SNG Cop.-, Armenak -, Meydancikkale 2717 var. same obverse die). Bright, with full flan and well centred on both sides, about as struck, extremely fine and very rare, an exceptional example.
