MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), AE 18, (5.96 g), Uncertain Macedonian mint (Amphipolis), issued c.325-310 B.C., obv. head of young Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. above B A with star to left above a bow in case below a club to left, in exerque a pellet, (S.6742, Price 380 variety, cf.BMC 378a-c-, Alpha Bank -, no specimen in ANS). Delightful green earthen patina, extremely fine, very rare type.
