SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrios II Nicator, second reign, (129-25 BC), silver tetradrachm (13.74g), Tyre mint, Phoenician standard, dated SE 184 (129/8 BC), obv. diademed and draped bust of Demetrios II right, rev. eagle standing left on prow, APE monogram above club surmounted by TYP (Tyre monogram) to left, A**S*I monogram to right, **DPR* (date) below, M between eagle's legs, **BASILEWS DHMHTRIOOU* around (cf SC 2195.1, 2c [date/control combination], HGC 9 1122). Toned, nearly very fine.
