P. CALPURNIUS, (133 BC), silver denarius (3.91g), Rome mint, obv. helmeted head of Roma facing right, mark of value (XVI monogram) to left, rev. Venus in biga riding right, crowned by Victory flying left above, P.CAL[P] below, ROMA in exergue (Crawford 247/1; Sydenham 468; S.124). Graffito to right of Roma, bright metal, light golden tone in fields, nearly extremely fine.

Ex S.J. Green Collection, purchased from Heritage Auctions 231728 (lot 62065). Previously in a slab by NGC as XF - Graffiti (certificate number 1884327-094).
