M. VARGUNTEIUS, (130 BC), silver denarius (3.70g), Rome mint, obv. helmeted head of Roma facing right, mark of value (XVI monogram) below chin, M VAR G to right, rev. Jupiter in slow quadriga trotting right, holding thunderbolt and branch, [ROMA] in exergue (Crawford 257/1; Sydenham 507; S.133). Edge cut at 7 o'clock, very fine and scarce.
