GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-44), silver denarius (3.37g), Rome mint, issued 241-3 AD, obv. laureate and draped bust right, IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. Sol standing right, head left, raising right hand and holding globe in left, AETERNITATI AVG (S.8672; RIC IV III, RSC 39). Well struck, extremely fine.

Ex S.J. Green Colleciton, purchased from Heritage Auctions 231622 (lot 61059). Previously in a slab by NGC as AU (certificate number 4247655-086).
