CONVICT LOVE TOKEN, on a George III halfpenny shaved smooth on both sides, engraved on one side is a man in period clothing pouring into a glass and in front of him is a round table with a candle in the centre and behind this is part of a window, around the edge is engraved, "James Gammon, Mary Kent", and on the other side is engraved, "When This You See Remember Mee (sic) And/Bare (sic) Mee (sic) Inn (sic) Your Mind Lett (sic)/All The World, Say What/Thay (sic) Will Speek (sic) Of Me/As You Find". Very fine.

James Gammon, aged 18, farm labourer, sentenced to 7 years in the colonies for theft of four bushels of oats. Arrived in Van Diemen's Land on 20 November 1844. With research.
