CONVICT LOVE TOKEN, engraved on a 1797 cartwheel penny shaved smooth on both sides, on one side is engraved, "Thomas/Cumbers/Fulham/7 Years", and on the other side is engraved, "Tried/At Newgate/March 23/1837/Guilty, 7 Years" (some of engraving is difficult to read). Some oxidation on one side, otherwise fine.

Thomas Cumber, age 27, postal worker, sentenced to 7 years in the colonies for theft. Arrived at NSW on 20 March 1838. With research.
