CONVICT LOVE TOKEN, on a George III halfpenny shaved smooth on both sides, stipple engraved on one side, "Forget/me not/(a pair of hands shaking)/when I am/Far away/April 10", and on the other side, a heart above two crossed oval slabs bearing the initials, "GB" at the top and "AB" at the bottom, and below this is the date 1840 with a wreath of leaves and flowers around the edge. Fine.

George Barnes, aged 31, no trade shown, sentenced to life in the colonies for manslaughter. Arrived in Van Diemen's Land on 6 August 1840. With research.
