BENDIGO, St Andrew Society, Annual Gathering, (1871), in silver (45mm), features plain silver disc with an ornate floral design frame, with loop mount, inscribed on obverse, "Bendigo/St.Andrew Society/Annual Gathering", and inscribed on reverse, "1st Prize/Best Dressed Boy/in/Highland Costume/awarded to/Francis George Gromann/1st Jany 1871". Toned very fine/fine.

"Frank" Francis Andrew George Gromann, the son of "Francis" Francois Adam Gromann and Mary A. Gromann (nee Bell); born 1862; won best dressed boy of Sandhurst at age 9 at local gathering of St Andrew's Society; married "Nellie" Ellen Meander; died aged 44, 30 October 1906, buried at Box Hill Cemetery, Melbourne, Vic.
