ANGUILLA, 1967 Liberty dollar countermarked on Peru, one sol, 1926 (KM.X3 [countermark], KM.218.1 [host coin]). Host coin toned, fine/ nearly very fine, countermark good very fine.

Ex Alan McRae Collection with his display ticket.^^PCGS note that the countermakred Liberty Dollars were the invention of businessman Scott Newhall, who hoped to use current events and the growing popularity of coin collecting to turn a quick profit. These coins were never issued by nor circulated in Anguilla.
