NETHERLANDS, Deventer, silver 28 stuivers or florin, 1684, countermarked with bundle of arrows, 1693 (KM.76 [host coin], KM.4.9 [countermark, host date not listed]), sea salvage from the wreck of the Hollandia. Toned, host coin fine, countermark very fine.

Ex Alan McRae Collection with his display tickets.^^The seven bundled arrows represented the provinces of the Dutch Republic, and served to combat the underweight coinage circulating at the end of the 17th century.
