THRACE, Islands Off, Thasos (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm (16.55g), obv. head of youthful Dionysus right, wearing ivy wreath, rev. Herakles standing left, holding club and lion skin, M to left, **HREKLEOUS SWTHPOS QASIWN* to left, right, and below (HGC 6 359, S.1759, BMC 72). Lightly toned, nearly very fine.
