SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrios I, (162-150 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.49 g), Antioch Mint, issued in Seleucid era 160 = 153-152 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrios to right, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne in form of a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **DHMHTRIOU SWTHROS*, monogram in exergue of **XR*, (S.7014, SC 1641.5c, SMA Newell 111, SNG Israel 1274, BMC 8, HGC 9, 798). Toned good very fine, scarce.
