FIRST ROMANIAN COSMONAUT, Intercosmos program, in bronze (59 mm), awarded to Dumitru Prunariu, May 1981, with matched pin, in presentation box with handwritting inside lid presenting the medal to Peter Lloyd, OBE, President of the M.G.A., from the first Romanian Cosmonaut, 1988. Very fine.
Dumitru Prunariu was awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union and Hero of the Socialist Republic of Romania for his participation in the Soyuz 40 mission.^^These medals were often gifted to foreign counterparts.
