SICILY, Gela, (c.490-480 B.C.), silver didrachm, (7.94 grams), obv. naked horseman to right wearing crested helmet, galloping right brandishing spear held high in his hand, rev. man headed bull to right with long beard, below **GELAS, (S.713, Jenkins 81, obv. 25, rev. 40 [same dies, notes only eight examples known of these dies], BMC 955 [same dies], SNG Cop 257-8 [similar dies]). Fine/nearly very fine and a rare die combination.
