Hispania or Baetica presenting palm to Pompey who is alighting from prow, CN. MAGNVS. IMP around, (S.1384 [£185 VF], Cr.469/1a, Syd.1035, C. Pompey the Great 1). The issue was struck by Cnaeus Pompey son of Pompey the Great, who went to Spain after his father's death to revive the spirit of the party. It may be the son and not the father on the reverse of the coin. 42 dies was used for the obverse of this coin type as calculated by Crawford.
