SURREY, Godalming, Mellersh, Moline & Weale's shilling, 1811, legend/woolpack with date on it (D.1). Has been mounted and carefully plugged, otherwise nearly very fine and extremely rare.

Ex W.J. Noble Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 58 (lot 1785) and previously from D.F. Spink Collection, sold Spink Coin Auctions, Sale 51, April 16, 1986 (lot 455). Mellersh, Moline and Weale were the three partners who founded the Godalming Bank in 1808. By 1814 the trading partnership was known as Mellersh & Co. The bank was taken over by Capital & Counties in 1893.
