CONSTANTIUS II, (A.D. 337-361), gold solidus, Aquilea mint, issued A.D. c.340-350 (4.440 grams), obv. a laurel and rosette diademed bust draped and cuirassed of Constantius II to right, around CONSTANTI VS AVGVSTVS, rev. VICTORIAE DD NN AVGG, Victory seated to right on cuirass supporting on her left knee a shield which she inscribes VOT XX MVLT XXX within wreath, beside her stands a small genius supporting the shield, SMAQ in exergue, wreath around, (S.-, RIC 44, RSC.288). Large flan, nearly extremely fine and very rare.
