ITALY, Lucania, Velia, (c.440/435-400 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.54 grams), obv. head of Athena to left, wearing Attic helmet, **F* behind, rev. lion pulling down stag, **UELH[TWN] around, (cf.S.453, Williams 159 [These Dies], SNG Cop. 1536, SNG Ash. 1134). Small flan, somewhat dirty, otherwise fine, a scarce die combination.
