SAMARAI, British New guinea, one pound, Burns, Philp & Company, Limited, payable at the Offices... (but in gold not stated), serial 14999, unsigned and undated but circa 1906 (paper watermarked Whatman 1906). Uncirculated and excessively rare if not unique.
The above three notes all have plain backs with the serial number in each corner. These notes have survived by direct descent from the manager at the time.
